The cell membrane of *Staphylococcus aureus* is a critical lipid bilayer separating the cytoplasm from the external environment, working with the peptidoglycan cell wall. It's composed primarily of phosphatidylglycerol (PG), lysyl-phosphatidylglycerol (Lys-PG), and cardiolipin (CL), with the ratio changing based on environmental conditions.
