Sterile alpha motif domain containing 11 pseudogene 1 (SAMD11P1) is a human pseudogene. Pseudogenes are DNA segments similar to functional genes but have lost their protein-coding ability. They typically do not produce functional products but may have regulatory roles in gene expression by acting as RNA decoys or competing for regulatory elements, although no specific regulatory function is reported for SAMD11P1.
