Overview
Sterile alpha motif domain-containing protein 13 is a protein with a SAM domain implicated in chromatin and histone binding, regulating transcription, and epigenetic processes. In cancers such as hepatocellular carcinoma, elevated levels of SAMD13 are correlated with poor prognosis and aggressive tumor features. SAMD13 is associated with immune cell infiltration and cell cycle regulation, and its gene methylation status may serve as a prognostic biomarker. Although not currently a direct therapeutic target, SAMD13's biological roles point toward potential importance in cancer biology and future therapeutic or diagnostic applications.
