Target intelligence / Profile preview
STRA6-like pseudogene (ENSG00000283162) is a non-functional genomic segment that resembles the STRA6 gene but does not produce a functional protein. The canonical STRA6 gene encodes a multitransmembrane domain protein responsible for retinol (vitamin A) transport across cell membranes, but this pseudogene does not play an active role in cellular physiology or disease. It is not a receptor, transporter, or enzyme and has no established therapeutic relevance[4][6].
