Target intelligence / Profile preview
Emm55 is a membrane-associated M protein encoded by the emm55 gene in Streptococcus pyogenes. It functions in immune evasion and has been explored experimentally as an immunostimulatory agent in cancer models. Strains expressing Emm55 also produce DRS, which interacts with complement components.
Emm55 DNA vaccine induces CD4+ and CD8+ T cell infiltration into tumors, enhancing anti-tumor immunity. DRS binds complement components C6 and C7.
