Striated muscle enriched protein kinase (SPEG) is a myosin light-chain kinase family enzyme essential for skeletal and cardiac muscle cytoskeletal development, differentiation, and maintenance. Mutations cause centronuclear myopathy; SPEG is mainly a genetic disease target, not currently addressed by approved drugs.
