Overview

Striatin is a scaffolding protein and regulatory B''' subunit of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), with no intrinsic enzymatic activity[1][2][5]. It is a core component of the striatin-interacting phosphatase and kinase (STRIPAK) signaling complex, where it coordinates diverse protein assemblies involved in a broad range of cellular functions including cell–cell adhesion, polarity, migration, and the control of apoptosis and cell cycle progression[1][2][3][4]. Striatin interacts with proteins such as calmodulin, various kinases (notably members of the sterile 20/Mst family), and structural proteins, and it shapes the specificity of PP2A activity through its scaffolding role[2][3][4]. STRIPAK complexes containing striatin have been implicated in neurological, cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases but striatin itself is not currently a direct therapeutic target[1][2][4].
