Striatin interacting protein 1 (STRIP1) is a protein that plays a critical role in cell migration, particularly mesenchymal cell migration, and is enriched in cellular protrusions of migrating cells. It is a core component of the Striatin-interacting phosphatase and kinase complex (STRIPAK), which integrates signaling pathways that regulate cytoskeletal dynamics, endosome organization, and possibly microtubule organization. Inhibitors of STRIP1 are under investigation as potential therapeutic agents targeting pathways involving cytoskeletal regulation or cancer progression.
STRIP1 inhibitors function by binding either the active site or regulatory sites on the protein, modulating its activity within signaling complexes like STRIPAK.
