Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF)

Target
SVF
Molecular classification
Cellular Mixture, Heterogeneous Cell Population
01

Overview

Stromal vascular fraction (SVF) is a heterogeneous mixture of cells derived from adipose tissue, primarily obtained via liposuction and enzymatic digestion. It is composed of various cell types, including adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs), endothelial cells, endothelial progenitor cells, pericytes, and immune cells. SVF is investigated for its regenerative and immunomodulatory potential in a range of clinical applications, including wound healing, fat grafting, and reproductive disorders. The mechanisms of action include differentiation of ADSCs, secretion of growth factors and cytokines, and direct cell-cell interactions to promote tissue repair, angiogenesis, and immunomodulation. However, challenges remain regarding standardization, safety, and efficacy.
