Target intelligence / Profile preview
Stromal vascular fraction-derived mesenchymal stem cell-mediated regeneration is a therapeutic approach in regenerative medicine that utilizes a heterogeneous population of cells obtained from adipose tissue to repair or replace damaged tissues. The stromal vascular fraction (SVF) contains not only adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ASCs) but also endothelial cells, pericytes, and various immune cells, which together create a potent regenerative environment (Bourin et al., 2013). This process is characterized by the secretion of numerous paracrine factors, such as growth factors and cytokines, which promote angiogenesis, reduce inflammation, and stimulate the proliferation of resident progenitor cells (Mazini et al., 2019). Unlike traditional single-molecule drugs, the "target" here is the restoration of tissue homeostasis through complex cellular interactions and signaling networks (Caplan, 2017). Clinical applications are broad, ranging from the treatment of osteoarthritis and chronic wounds to cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases (Guo et al., 2016). However, the complexity and variability of the SVF composition present significant challenges for standardization and regulatory oversight compared to conventional molecular therapies.
Regeneration is achieved through the paracrine secretion of growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular vesicles that promote angiogenesis, modulate the immune system, and stimulate endogenous repair mechanisms (Mazini et al., 2019; Caplan, 2017).
