SUB1 pseudogene 2 (*SUB1P2*) is a pseudogene related to the protein-coding gene SUB1, also known as SUB1 regulator of transcription. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to known genes but are generally non-functional due to disabling mutations or sequence alterations, preventing them from encoding functional proteins. While there is growing evidence that some pseudogenes can exert regulatory effects on gene expression—for example, by acting as decoys for regulatory RNAs—there is no evidence that SUB1P2 encodes a functional protein or acts as a direct cellular target. There are no reported roles for SUB1P2 in human disease, drug interaction, or biomarker discovery.
