Target intelligence / Profile preview
Succinate dehydrogenase complex subunit D pseudogene 2 (SDHDP2) is annotated as a pseudogene in the human genome. Unlike its functional counterparts in the succinate dehydrogenase enzyme complex, SDHDP2 does not encode a functional protein and has no known biological or pathological roles. There is no evidence supporting its utility as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug interaction site[1][2]. SDHDP2 should not be confused with the functional SDHD gene, which encodes a bona fide enzyme subunit with recognized roles in mitochondrial function and disease. SDHDP2 is listed in gene databases as a pseudogene, confirming that it is not appropriate as a molecular or pharmacological target[2].
