SUCLA2 antisense RNA 1 (SUCLA2-AS1)

Target
SUCLA2-AS1
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), Antisense RNA, Non-protein coding RNA
01

Overview

SUCLA2 antisense RNA 1 (SUCLA2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand of the SUCLA2 locus on human chromosome 13 (location: chr13:48001389-48002620, hg38). It does not code for a protein, and its molecular function and disease relevance remain poorly characterized in the literature. As an antisense lncRNA, it may participate in regulation of gene expression or epigenetic modification processes typical of this RNA class, but there is currently no direct evidence supporting a biological or therapeutic function for SUCLA2-AS1. No information is available to support SUCLA2-AS1 as a direct therapeutic target or disease biomarker, and it should not be confused with SUCLA2, which is a distinct protein-coding gene with established metabolic and disease relevance.

Mechanism of action

None. There is no established mechanism of action for any drug targeting SUCLA2-AS1.

03

Biological functions

Currently, there are no specific functional studies demonstrating the role of SUCLA2-AS1 in cellular processes. As an antisense lncRNA, it may be involved in gene expression regulation, chromatin remodeling, or RNA-RNA interactions, but functional evidence is lacking in the literature and databases
04

Disease associations

No direct disease association has been described for SUCLA2-AS1. There are no established links between SUCLA2-AS1 expression and cancer, inflammation, neurodegeneration, or other diseases as of current knowledge
05

Safety considerations

None reported. There are no known therapeutic concerns or safety risks tied specifically to SUCLA2-AS1.
