Overview

SUCLG2 divergent transcript (SUCLG2-DT, also known as SUCLG2-AS1 or SUCLG2 antisense RNA 1) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on chromosome 3p14.1, spanning approximately 293,129 base pairs. Unlike protein-coding genes, SUCLG2-DT does not encode a protein. Its function has not been well characterized in the scientific literature and there are no current reports of its direct involvement as a therapeutic target, disease biomarker, or pharmacological target in drug development. It is sometimes included in genome-wide association studies (GWAS) as a genetic locus, but its biological role and relevance remain unclear. SUCLG2-DT is distinct from SUCLG2, which encodes a mitochondrial enzyme subunit. It is not considered a traditional drug target (e.g., receptor, enzyme, transporter), nor does it have known functions or disease associations. Most current databases classify it only as an lncRNA, and there is no data on interacting drugs, mechanisms of action, biomarker relevance, or safety concerns. As of current scientific consensus, this transcript is not a characterized or actionable target for therapeutic or functional analysis.
