The Sudan virus glycoprotein (SUDV GP) is the sole surface protein of the Sudan ebolavirus (SUDV), essential for viral entry. It mediates attachment and membrane fusion by interacting with cell-surface lectins (DC-SIGN, L-SIGN) and the endosomal receptor Niemann-Pick C1 (NPC1). Structural features include a mucin-like domain that shields epitopes and a critical disulfide bond. A polymorphism at residue 95 (Q/K) affects stability.
