Target intelligence / Profile preview
Sulfatase-2 (SULF2) is an extracellular enzyme that removes 6-O-sulfate groups from heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs), modulating their interactions with growth factors and cytokines. It plays a role in cell signaling, cancer progression, and inflammation. High expression is associated with poor prognosis in certain cancers.
Inhibition of SULF2 alters heparan sulfate proteoglycan sulfation patterns, modulating growth factor and cytokine signaling.
