Suppressor APC domain containing 2 pseudogene 2 (SAPCD2P2) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome. Pseudogenes, including SAPCD2P2, are genomic sequences similar to functional genes but have accumulated mutations that prevent them from encoding functional proteins. While some pseudogenes have been implicated in gene regulation at the RNA level, most—including SAPCD2P2—are not considered functional genes or therapeutic targets. There is no evidence to suggest SAPCD2P2 plays a direct role in human disease or is relevant for drug development. It should not be confused with SAPCD2 (Suppressor APC domain containing 2), which is a functional gene involved in cell cycle regulation and cancer biology.
