Suppressor of variegation 3-9 homolog 2 pseudogene is an unprocessed pseudogene derived from the suppressor of variegation 3-9 homolog 2 (SUV39H2) gene. Pseudogenes do not encode functional proteins but may retain high sequence similarity with their parental genes. They can sometimes regulate those genes through non-coding RNA transcription (e.g., lncRNA), but there is no direct evidence this pseudogene has functional roles or clinical relevance. This gene is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or any typical therapeutic target. It should not be used as a functional target in research or drug discovery[1][2][4].
