Sushi domain-containing protein 1 (SUSD1) is a human protein encoded by the SUSD1 gene, located on chromosome 9. SUSD1 contains evolutionarily conserved Sushi domains, also known as complement control protein (CCP) modules or short consensus repeats (SCR), which are commonly found in proteins related to complement regulation and cell adhesion but not typically associated with direct druggability or therapeutic targeting. SUSD1 is predicted to enable calcium ion binding and is membrane-associated, but there is limited functional characterization. Its primary associations are with rare genetic disorders such as Seckel syndrome, but no evidence currently supports its designation as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or known point of drug interaction.
