SYF2 pre-mRNA splicing factor pseudogene 2 (SYF2P2) is a processed pseudogene identified in the human genome and related to the protein-coding SYF2 gene, which is a component of the spliceosome involved in pre-mRNA splicing and cell cycle regulation[1][4][7]. Unlike the functional SYF2 gene, SYF2P2 does not encode a protein and has no evidence of protein-coding potential or clear biological function[7]. There are no reported therapeutic uses, biomarker roles, or diseases directly associated with this pseudogene. The functional gene, SYF2, participates in cell cycle control and splicing and is investigated in cancer biology, but SYF2P2 is not a drug target or biomarker candidate[4][7].
