Target intelligence / Profile preview
Syndecan binding protein pseudogene 2 (SDCBPP2) is a human pseudogene. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that resemble known genes but are typically nonfunctional due to mutations or missing regulatory elements. SDCBPP2 is related by sequence to the syndecan binding protein family, which includes active members such as SDCBP (syntenin), but itself does not encode a functional protein. There is no evidence that SDCBPP2 serves as a drug target, biomarker, or has direct biological or disease relevance[2][5][8].
