SYNE3 antisense RNA 1 (SYNE3-AS1, also known as AL133467.1) is a human long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed antisense to the SYNE3 gene. It is part of the lncRNA family, specifically functioning as an antisense RNA, which may allow it to regulate the expression of the adjacent or overlapping SYNE3 gene. SYNE3 encodes nesprin-3, a component of the LINC complex important for nuclear-cytoskeletal linkages and implicated in cancer cell biology. While SYNE3-AS1 is cataloged in human gene databases and is classified as a lncRNA, no published literature establishes SYNE3-AS1 as a therapeutic target, disease biomarker, or object of drug interactions[3][5].
