SYNPR antisense RNA 1 (SYNPR-AS1), also known as LncFASA, is a long non-coding RNA gene located on human chromosome 3 (chr3:63421300-63645637, hg38)[5]. It is annotated as a non-protein coding antisense RNA to the SYNPR (synaptoporin) gene. The inclusion of "Ferroptosis-Associated" in some aliases suggests hypothesized or bioinformatically predicted roles in ferroptosis, though direct experimental evidence is currently lacking. Its biological activities, disease relevance, drug interactions, and utility as a biomarker remain to be determined. SYNPR-AS1 currently serves as a genomic feature of interest in gene regulation studies and ferroptosis research but is not a validated therapeutic target[5].
