T-box transcription factor 10 (TBX10) is a member of the T-box family of transcription factors, characterized by a conserved DNA-binding domain called the T-box. TBX10 acts as a probable transcriptional regulator involved in developmental processes, including embryonic cell fate determination and organogenesis. TBX10 is specifically part of the T-box 1 subfamily. Mutations in this gene have been implicated in developmental disorders, most notably isolated cleft lip with or without cleft palate. There are currently no known drugs that directly target TBX10, and its main biological role is developmental transcriptional regulation, not as a conventional therapeutic target such as a receptor or enzyme.
