T cell activation via nonstructural viral antigens describes the process by which T cells recognize and respond to viral proteins that are not part of the mature virion structure, but are produced during viral replication inside infected cells. These nonstructural antigens are presented on MHC molecules, leading to the activation of virus-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T cells and contributing significantly to effective antiviral defense.
