T-cell immunoglobulin mucin domain-containing protein 1 (TIM-1)

Target
TIM-1
Molecular classification
Type I transmembrane protein, Receptor
01

Overview

T-cell immunoglobulin mucin domain-containing protein 1 (TIM-1), also known as HAVCR1, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein involved in immune regulation and various pathological processes. It acts as a stimulatory molecule for T-cell activation, particularly promoting Th2 responses. Overexpression of TIM‑1 has been observed across multiple tumor types, promoting tumor cell proliferation and resistance to apoptosis. It also functions as a cellular receptor for hepatitis A virus infection and serves as a biomarker for kidney damage under the name KIM‑1.
