T cell receptor alpha joining 32 (TRAJ32) is one of the joining (J) gene segments that encode a portion of the T cell receptor (TCR) alpha chain in humans[1][4][7]. TCRs are heterodimeric (alpha-beta or gamma-delta) membrane proteins on T lymphocytes responsible for recognizing antigens that are presented as peptide-MHC (major histocompatibility complex) complexes on antigen-presenting cells[1][7]. TCR alpha chains are generated by somatic recombination of variable (V), joining (J), and constant (C) gene segments. The TRAJ32 segment specifically contributes to the antigen-binding diversity of the TCR but does not encode a functional protein by itself; it is only active as part of the larger recombined receptor[1][4]. There is no evidence that TRAJ32 is a direct therapeutic target or interacts with drugs as an isolated gene segment. Its biological significance is in immune recognition and adaptive immunity as a sequence contributor to TCR diversity[1][7][6].
