Overview

TRAJ37 (T cell receptor alpha joining 37) is a joining (J) gene segment of the human T cell receptor alpha chain locus. It encodes a short region (22 amino acids) that is somatically recombined with variable (V) gene segments during T cell development, forming part of the antigen-binding region of the TCR alpha chain. The function of TRAJ37, like other TRAJ segments, is to contribute to the diversity of TCRs required for antigen recognition in the adaptive immune system. TRAJ37 itself is not a stand-alone molecule or receptor, nor is it a therapeutic target. Instead, it serves a genetic role in generating immune receptor diversity through VJ recombination in T lymphocytes[4][5].
