Overview

TRAJ51 is a joining (J) segment within the T cell receptor alpha locus on chromosome 14, classified as a pseudogene in humans. The T cell receptor itself, expressed on T lymphocytes, is integral to antigen recognition and immune response, but TRAJ51 does not produce a functional protein and is incapable of direct receptor activity.
