T cell receptor alpha joining 57 (TRAJ57) is a joining (J) gene segment within the human T cell receptor alpha (TRA) locus located on chromosome 14[6][2][5]. It encodes part of the variable region of the T cell receptor alpha chain, contributing to the diversity of T cell receptor specificity through somatic recombination during T cell development. The protein product of TRAJ57 is not a standalone receptor or molecule, but rather a short peptide sequence incorporated into T cell receptors as part of the V(J) recombination process. TRAJ57 is not regarded as a therapeutic target, nor is it individually targeted by drugs or used as a clinical biomarker. Instead, its biological relevance lies in its contribution to the immense diversity of the adaptive immune response via T cell receptor assembly[7][4][6][2][5].
