Overview

T cell receptor alpha joining 60 (TRAJ60) is a joining (J) gene segment within the T cell receptor (TCR) alpha locus, contributing to the diversity of TCRs through V(D)J recombination during T cell development. In the human genome, TRAJ60 is annotated as a pseudogene and does not encode a functional protein. J segments like TRAJ60 serve as short DNA sequences recombined with V (variable) segments to generate the unique antigen receptor of each T cell, essential for adaptive immunity. However, TRAJ60 itself is not a functional receptor, enzyme, or classical molecular target, and has no direct therapeutic relevance. TRAJ60 is not a standalone molecular entity but rather a genetic segment within the TCR alpha locus, mainly important for gene recombination in T cell development, and not considered a therapeutic target, protein family member, or direct disease marker.
