Overview

T cell receptor alpha variable 10 (TRAV10) encodes the variable region of the alpha chain of the T cell receptor (TCR), which is essential for the recognition of peptide-major histocompatibility complex (pMHC) complexes presented by antigen-presenting cells[1][3]. The TRAV10 gene is part of the TCR alpha locus and contributes to the diversity of antigen recognition through genetic recombination during T cell development[1][2][3]. The product of TRAV10 is involved in the formation of the αβ T cell receptor, necessary for adaptive immunity, T cell signaling, and proper immune surveillance. T cell receptors, including those containing TRAV10, play a key role in mounting immune responses to infections, cancer, and other immunopathologies, and aberrant T cell signaling can be implicated in autoimmunity and other immune-related diseases[1][2]. Currently, there are no known direct drug interactions specifically targeting TRAV10, nor is it established as a standalone clinical biomarker or as having unique safety concerns; the clinical focus is generally at the level of the full TCR complex or T cell function as a whole[1][2].
