T cell receptor alpha variable 5 (TRAV5) encodes the variable domain of the alpha chain of the T cell receptor, which is expressed on T lymphocytes as part of the αβ TCR complex[1][3]. This variable region is generated by somatic DNA recombination, enabling immense diversity in antigen recognition.
