Overview

The **T-cell receptor beta constant 1 chain** (TRBC1) is the constant region of the beta chain of the αβ T-cell receptor, a membrane-anchored heterodimeric protein expressed on the surface of T lymphocytes[1][2][4][6]. The TCR complex recognizes antigenic peptides presented by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules, triggering T-cell activation through associated CD3 signal transduction proteins[1][3][5]. TRBC1 is one of two highly homologous constant regions (TRBC1 and TRBC2) in humans that provide structural support to the beta chain. Research has shown that monoclonal antibodies can specifically detect TRBC1, enabling rapid assessment of T-cell clonality, especially relevant in T-cell malignancy diagnostics and monitoring[2]. The TCR beta chains and their constant regions play a central role in adaptive immunity, mediating the specificity and diversity of immune responses.
