Target intelligence / Profile preview
T cell receptor beta variable 1 (TRBV1) encodes a segment of the TCR beta chain variable region in T lymphocytes, mediating antigen recognition by binding MHC/antigen complexes. TRBV1 is one of many TRBV genes, each representing distinct variable segments for the beta chain, thereby contributing to TCR repertoire diversity. Polymorphisms in TRBV loci, including TRBV1, have been associated with differential risk of autoimmunity and adverse events during immunotherapy, although TRBV1 is not a direct drug target. The gene is part of the structurally and functionally complex TRB locus, which has been investigated for links to immune-related diseases and as a potential biomarker for predicting immune responses and therapy-associated complications.
Not a direct drug target (checkpoint blockade immunotherapies modulate TCR-mediated immune responses indirectly)
