Overview

T cell receptor beta variable 4-3 encodes the variable (V) region of the beta chain of the T cell receptor, forming part of the antigen-binding domain on alpha-beta T lymphocytes. The TCR beta variable region is created through V(D)J recombination, generating immense diversity for antigen recognition. The receptor is membrane-bound, expressed exclusively on the surface of T cells, and essential for adaptive immune responses by mediating recognition of peptide-MHC complexes presented by antigen-presenting cells. Variations in TRBV4-3 and related variable regions can influence T cell function and are linked to autoimmune disease, cancer progression, immunotherapy responses, and serve as biomarkers for immune-related adverse events.
