Target intelligence / Profile preview
T cell receptor beta variable 6-2 (TRBV6-2) is a protein subunit that forms part of the variable region of the T cell receptor (TCR) beta chain, which is essential for antigen recognition in adaptive immunity[1][4]. Located on the surface of T cells, TRBV6-2, together with an alpha chain variable region, enables T cells to recognize peptide fragments presented by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules on antigen-presenting cells. This recognition triggers signaling cascades, leading to T cell activation, proliferation, and the execution of various immune functions. Diversity in the T cell receptor, including variation in TRBV regions, is generated during T cell development by somatic V(D)J recombination. Certain T cell tumor immunotherapies, such as the experimental agent STAR0602, target Vβ6-expressing T cells for selective expansion and antitumor activity[2]. The TCR complex, including the TRBV6-2 segment, is membrane-associated and closely interacts with CD3 molecules for signal transduction, ultimately activating transcription factors critical for T cell responses and differentiation[1][4].
