TRDJ3 (T cell receptor delta joining 3) is a joining (J) gene segment found within the T cell receptor delta (TRD) locus in humans, located on chromosome 14[5][7]. It participates in the somatic V(D)J recombination events that generate the repertoire of T cell receptors expressed by γδ T cells[3]. These receptors are critical for recognizing a variety of ligands and contributing to immune responses, particularly in tissue surveillance, infection control, and immunoregulation[3][4][6]. The usage of specific J segments such as TRDJ3 is associated with particular subsets of γδ T cells, which can play roles in anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-tumor immunity, but the gene segment itself is not directly actionable as a drug target[3][4].
