The T cell receptor (TCR) recognizing Alnus rhombifolia-derived peptide–MHC complexes is a specialized immune receptor found on the surface of T lymphocytes that specifically binds to peptides derived from the major white alder pollen allergen, Aln r 1, when presented by Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) molecules, typically HLA-DRB1*01:01. This recognition event is a critical step in the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis and asthma in individuals sensitized to alder pollen, as it triggers the activation of Th2-polarized T cells and the subsequent release of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
