A T-cell receptor specific for the prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) antigen is a membrane-bound heterodimeric immune receptor composed of alpha and beta chains, expressed on T lymphocytes. Its variable regions enable the recognition of peptide antigens derived from PAP, presented on major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. Upon recognition, the TCR-CD3 complex initiates intracellular signal transduction, leading to T-cell activation, proliferation, and targeted cytotoxicity against prostate cells expressing PAP. Such receptor specificities are central to adaptive immune response and serve as valuable therapeutic modalities in cancer immunotherapy, particularly for prostate cancer.
