Overview

T-complex protein 10A homolog 2 (TCP10L) is a liver- and testis-specific nuclear protein that functions as a transcription factor possessing a typical leucine zipper motif. It acts as a transcriptional corepressor, significantly inhibiting expression of reporter genes and involved in the negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II[1][2][3][4]. TCP10L is also reported to act as a tumor suppressor in hepatocellular carcinoma cells, with its expression found downregulated in liver tumor tissues[1][3][5]. The protein is encoded by the TCP10L gene, located on human chromosome 21q22.11, and consists of 215 amino acids[1][2][4]. No approved therapeutics or established small molecule inhibitors/modulators are documented for TCP10L to date, and it is not currently recognized as a direct therapeutic target in drug discovery databases[3][6].
