T-helper cell type 2 (Th2) lymphocytes are a CD4+ T cell subset central to humoral immune responses by producing cytokines (IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, etc.) that stimulate B cells, drive IgE production, and recruit eosinophils/basophils, playing a major role in protection against extracellular parasites and in the pathology of allergic conditions and asthma. Th2 cell activity is regulated by signals such as IL-4 and transcription factors like GATA3 and STAT6. Dysregulation can lead to allergies, autoimmune diseases, and impaired defense against certain pathogens
