Target intelligence / Profile preview
The T helper cell type 2 (Th2) pathway orchestrates humoral immune responses, particularly against extracellular parasites, bacteria, allergens, and toxins. It involves the differentiation and function of Th2 cells, which produce cytokines that drive B cell activation, antibody class switching (especially to IgE), and recruitment of eosinophils and basophils. Overactivation or dysregulation of the Th2 pathway is implicated in allergic diseases and certain autoimmune conditions.
