Overview

TACR1 antisense RNA 1 (TACR1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 2 (chr2:75154366-75189949, hg38)[6]. It is transcribed from the antisense strand of the TACR1 gene locus, but its biological function, role in health or disease, or therapeutic relevance have not been well defined in the scientific literature or curated gene databases as of now. Unlike the protein-coding TACR1 gene (which encodes the neurokinin 1 receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor with established neuroscience and immunology roles), TACR1-AS1 has no reported function as a receptor, enzyme, or classical drug target[6]. No drug interactions, disease associations, or use as biomarker for TACR1-AS1 are currently described.
