TAF1A antisense RNA 1 (TAF1A-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA molecule transcribed in the antisense direction relative to the TAF1A gene. Antisense lncRNAs function as regulators of gene expression, often by interfering with transcription of the overlapping sense gene, modulating chromatin structure, or through other RNA-based mechanisms, typically in cis[3][6][9]. Although antisense RNAs are increasingly recognized for their roles in gene regulatory networks and sometimes disease, TAF1A-AS1 itself has not been widely studied or established as a specific therapeutic target.
