Family with Sequence Similarity 19 Member A5 (FAM19A5), also known as TAFA5, is a secreted chemokine-like protein highly expressed in the brain and adipose tissue. It acts as a regulator of cell proliferation and migration via G protein-coupled receptors, particularly S1PR2 and FPR2. FAM19A5 plays a protective role in the cardiovascular system by inhibiting vascular smooth muscle cell activation and neointima formation.
