It is annotated on the basis of sequence similarity to TAF11, a known component of the general transcription factor TFIID complex involved in RNA polymerase II-mediated transcription initiation. Unlike canonical TAF11, there is no experimental evidence confirming TAF11L11's expression, protein product, function, molecular interactions, or role in disease.
