TATA-box binding protein associated factor 11 like 7 (TAF11L7) is a predicted protein-coding gene annotated based on sequence homology to the well-characterized TAF family of transcription factor subunits. TAF11L7 is predicted to act as a protein heterodimerization partner and contribute to the activity of the RNA polymerase II general transcription initiation machinery, potentially assisting with assembly of the RNA polymerase II preinitiation complex and associating with the transcription factor TFIID complex in the nucleus. However, there is limited direct experimental evidence for its function, and it is described primarily by computational annotation; there is little to no literature or pharmacology connecting TAF11L7 to disease, druggability, or therapeutic targeting. Furthermore, TAF11L7 appears to be a computationally predicted paralog with no confirmed human protein function, and searches for disease association, pharmacology, or biomarker potential yield no results[1][2]. TAF11 (without the "L7") is a well-established TFIID subunit, but TAF11L7 itself is not currently recognized as a canonical or validated molecular target.
