TATA-box binding protein associated factor 9 pseudogene 1 (TAF9P1) is a genomic sequence similar to the protein-coding gene for TATA-box binding protein-associated factor 9, but it has accumulated mutations or regulatory losses that render it nonfunctional. TAF9P1 does not encode a protein and is generally not transcribed or translated. It does not act as a receptor, enzyme, transcription factor, or any major molecular target class. There is no current evidence supporting a biological or disease-related role for TAF9P1, nor is it considered a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug interaction partner.
