TCERG1L antisense RNA 1 (TCERG1L-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed in the antisense orientation relative to the TCERG1L gene[1][3]. Like other antisense lncRNAs, TCERG1L-AS1 is not translated into protein but may regulate the expression of adjacent or overlapping protein-coding genes, typically through mechanisms involving direct base pairing with sense transcripts, modulation of promoter activity, recruitment of chromatin modifiers, or alteration of transcript processing[4][5]. The general family of antisense lncRNAs can influence diverse processes such as transcriptional activation or silencing, alternative splicing, and epigenetic regulation[4][5]. There is currently no direct evidence in the literature that TCERG1L-AS1 is targeted therapeutically, nor are there indications that it serves as a clinical biomarker. The broader class of lncRNAs and antisense RNAs is, however, an area of active investigation for their roles in gene regulation and potential as drug targets in diseases such as cancer[4][5].
